Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how PrTask uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit or use our platform. It describes what cookies are, the types we use, why we use them, and how you can control or disable them. This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience. Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining on your device for a set period) or "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser). Cookies can be set by the site you visit ("first-party cookies") or by other services that provide content on the page ("third-party cookies").
2. Essential Cookies
PrTask uses essential cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. These are required for the platform to function.
3. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies remember your preferences such as theme selection (dark or light mode), language settings, and notification preferences. These cookies enhance your experience but are not strictly required for the platform to operate. You may disable functional cookies without affecting core functionality, but your preferences will not be remembered between sessions.
4. Analytics
We may use analytics cookies to understand platform usage and improve the experience. No personal data is shared with third parties for advertising.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Certain third-party services integrated with PrTask may set their own cookies. These include our payment processor for secure transaction handling and GitHub for OAuth authentication. Third-party cookies are governed by the respective provider's cookie and privacy policies. PrTask does not control these cookies. Third-party cookies are only loaded after you have provided consent where required by applicable law.
6. Cookie Inventory

7. Cookie Consent
When you first visit PrTask, a cookie consent banner informs you about our use of cookies and allows you to accept all, reject all, or customize your preferences by category. Essential cookies are always active and cannot be disabled. Analytics, functional, and marketing cookies require your consent. You may update your cookie preferences at any time through your account settings or by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.
EU/EEA and UK Cookie Consent
Under the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR (EU) and PECR (UK), prior opt-in consent is required before setting non-essential cookies. PrTask implements an opt-in model: no non-essential cookies are placed until you explicitly consent. The reject button has equal prominence to the accept button. PrTask does not use cookie walls (denying access for refusing non-essential cookies). Consent is granular per category (analytics, functional, marketing). PrTask maintains auditable records of consent and will request renewal periodically.
California (CCPA/CPRA) Cookie Disclosure
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, PrTask discloses all cookies used and their purposes. PrTask honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information through cookies. PrTask does not sell personal information collected through cookies.
Other Jurisdictions
Brazil (LGPD), Thailand (PDPA), South Korea (PIPA), India (DPDP), South Africa (POPIA), and China (PIPL) require consent for non-essential cookies. PrTask applies the opt-in consent model globally to ensure compliance with the strictest applicable requirements. Japan (APPI), Canada (PIPEDA), Singapore (PDPA), and Australia follow notification or implied consent models for non-sensitive cookies, but PrTask provides opt-in consent for all users regardless of jurisdiction.
8. Managing Cookies
You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the platform.
9. Withdrawing Cookie Consent
You may withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking the cookie preferences link in the platform footer, adjusting settings in your account preferences, or clearing all PrTask cookies through your browser settings and revisiting the site. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal. After withdrawal, non-essential cookies will be removed and will not be set again until you provide new consent.
10. Cookie Retention Periods
Essential cookies (session, CSRF) are retained for the duration of your session or up to 30 days. Cookie consent preferences are retained for 1 year. Functional cookies (theme, language) are retained for 1 year. Analytics cookies are retained for up to 2 years. Marketing cookies are retained for up to 3 months. All cookie retention periods are listed in the cookie inventory table above.
11. Relationship to Privacy Policy
This Cookie Policy is part of and should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy provides comprehensive information about how PrTask collects, uses, and protects your personal data, including data collected through cookies. If there is any conflict between this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy prevails.
12. Contact
For questions about our use of cookies or to exercise your privacy rights related to cookie data, contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@prtask.com or our privacy team at privacy@prtask.com.
About This Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy provides complete transparency about the cookies and similar tracking technologies used on the PrTask platform. We use a minimal set of cookies necessary for platform functionality, user preferences, and anonymous analytics. Each cookie is documented in the reference table above with its name, provider, purpose, duration, and category so you can make informed decisions about your cookie preferences.
PrTask respects your cookie choices in accordance with EU ePrivacy Directive, GDPR, CCPA, and other regional privacy regulations. Essential cookies that are required for platform security and functionality cannot be disabled, but you have full control over functional and analytics cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings or our cookie consent mechanism, and withdraw consent for non-essential cookies without affecting your ability to use the core features of the platform.
